The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien 1956 2nd edition 8th printing overall. This is one of 1,000 copies bound by Houghton Mifflin from the British sheets. Houghton Mifflin would not start printing their own text block until 1963. This book is in amazing condition aside from slight loss to the spine of the dust jacket, which is protected in a removable mylar sleeve. A rare find, this book does not seem to show up on the market often and even less so in this condition.
